HIV drugs are a Daily Requirement.
Near-perfect (>95%) drug adherence practices are necessary to achieve and maintain viral suppression. Adherence is difficult for most patients.

 

 

The HIV-1 virus mutates at a rapid rate.  Selective pressure of ART drugs results in the need to change therapies as resistance develops.
